Music Icon Pens Letter To Younger Self

Yesterday the world famous Fergie wrote herself a letter on Instagram in celebration of her own 50th birthday.

The former Black Eyes Peas singer, born one Stacy Ann Ferguson, shared with us all her hopes, dreams, and advice for her younger self.

Commenting on her career on her half century of life, the ‘Double Dutchess‘ artist writes, “I honestly didn’t know what to post to mark this landmark number, so I started with a letter to my younger self.”

“Dear little Stacy, one day you’ll be 50 and you’ll be proud of yourself. You won’t have it all figured out, but you realize …. who does? Success really is in the journey, and true happiness can be found in the smallest simple moments. Keep loving deeply with all your heart, and keep working on yourself. It always all makes sense later. I love you.”

“I also could not acknowledge this milestone without including my son Axl Jack,” she continued. “The sweetest love I’ve ever known. You make me want to be a better human every day. Onward and upward!”

A multitude of other artists commented below her post wishing her a happy 50th.

Her career started on kids tv in the 80’s before starting her music career. She originally took stage in an all girl group “NRG”, before parting ways to attempt success on her own.

Fergie’s widespread place in the spotlight came as she joined the Black Eyed Peas’ Elephunk album in 2002, continuing on to sing some of their most popular songs, before striking it out on her own in 2015.

Since being a solo artist, Fergie has enjoyed great success, being well known for her music as well as her looks.

Fergie has also made a few fashion products, such as shoes, hangbags, and cosmetics. There’s even a Fergalicious wine.

Humanitarian Work

Fergie also seems to have a passion for using her fame and money to help others.

She has notably supported organizations such as Habitat For Humanity, Lopez Family Foundation, Red Cross, Stand Up To Cancer, The Trevor Project and Treatment Action Campaign.

In 2013, She received the “Always Next, Forever Now” award from Logo TV in recognition of her work in the LGBT community.

in 2014, as Avon Foundation‘s global brand ambassador, Fergie announced the launch of a new global initiative, the Justice Institute on Gender-Based Violence, with Avon Foundation, Vital Voices, and the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.  The new public-private initiative aims to improve the enforcement of laws around the globe protecting victims of domestic and gender violence.

In 2020, 100 percent of the proceeds from Fergie Footwear’s holiday shoe were donated to Dress For Success, a global nonprofit organization that provides professional attire for low-income women.

I think we can all agree Fergie has led a life full of excitement and wonder. We wish her a happy half-century, and hope she sees the next half!
